PerfoMetrixBot

PerfoMetrixBot fetches a page when someone asks PerfoMetrix to check it. It identifies itself with this user agent:

PerfoMetrixBot/1.0 (+https://perfometrix.com/bot)

What it requests

Checks are passive: the bot behaves like a single visitor loading one page. Per scan it makes at most 12 requests, only these:

  • the submitted URL and its redirects
  • the http:// version of the URL (to test the HTTPS redirect)
  • the www / non-www counterpart
  • /robots.txt, your sitemap and /.well-known/security.txt

It never guesses paths, submits forms, sends payloads, scans ports or downloads your scripts. Performance data comes from Google PageSpeed Insights, which loads the page from Google’s infrastructure.

Where requests come from

All PerfoMetrixBot requests come from this IP address (Hetzner, Germany). You can allowlist it, or use it to recognize our traffic in your logs:

2.31.70.66

If you see unexpected traffic from it, contact us.

Opting out

Add this to your robots.txt and PerfoMetrix will refuse to scan the site:

User-agent: PerfoMetrixBot
Disallow: /

Rate limits

Each site can be scanned only a limited number of times per hour across all users, so the bot can’t be used to put load on your server.
