What the SEO Checker checks

This checker reads one page the way a search engine crawler does and tests the on-page basics: the HTTP status and redirects, whether the page may be indexed, the title and meta description and their length, the H1 and heading outline, the canonical URL, the language and viewport tags, Open Graph and X card tags, structured data, image alt text and how much real text the page has.

It also looks at the site around the page: whether robots.txt can be read, whether a sitemap is found and lists this page, and whether the www and non-www versions lead to one address. You see a preview of how the page may look in Google results. A run usually takes a few seconds.

Why it matters

Search engines can only rank what they can crawl, index and understand. A missing title, a noindex tag left over from a staging site, a canonical pointing elsewhere or a sitemap that omits the page each quietly keep a page out of results, however good its content.

These are also the cheapest fixes in SEO: most are a single tag or line of configuration, and they help every page that shares the same template.

How to fix common problems

Give each page a unique title of about 50 to 60 characters and a meta description of 50 to 160 characters that describe what the page offers. Use one H1 and a logical heading outline.

Make indexing explicit: remove stray noindex tags, point the canonical URL at the page itself (or the preferred version), and list the page in your XML sitemap referenced from robots.txt.

Add structured data that matches the page type, alt text for meaningful images, and enough original text to answer the visitor’s question. The full PerfoMetrix audit adds Lighthouse’s SEO audits, speed, security and AI readiness.

Questions

Does this check my rankings or keywords?

No. It tests whether the page is technically ready to be crawled, indexed and shown well. Rankings also depend on content quality, links and competition, which no single-page test can measure.

Does it crawl my whole site?

No. It checks the page you enter plus robots.txt and the sitemap. Test your most important templates (home, category, article, product) one by one.

How do I see whether Google has indexed my page?

Use the URL Inspection tool in Google Search Console, or search for `site:` followed by your address. Our check tells you whether anything on the page blocks indexing.
