What the Schema Markup Generator does

Schema markup is structured data in the schema.org vocabulary that describes a page in a form machines can read: who publishes it, which product it sells and at what price, when an article was written and by whom. JSON-LD is the format Google recommends for it: a single <script type="application/ld+json"> block, kept separate from the visible HTML.

This generator builds JSON-LD for five common types. Organization describes your company with its name, logo and official profiles. LocalBusiness adds an address, phone number and opening hours for a physical location. Article covers blog posts and news with headline, author, dates and image. FAQPage lists questions and answers shown on the page. Product describes an item with its offer, price and currency. You fill in a form and copy the result.

Why it matters

Search engines use structured data to understand pages and to decide whether they are eligible for rich results, such as product prices, article details or business information. AI systems and other consumers read it to identify your organization, authors and products consistently. Writing JSON-LD by hand invites small syntax errors, a trailing comma or an unescaped quote, that make the whole block invisible without any visible symptom.

Structured data is not a direct ranking factor and rich results are never guaranteed, but missing or broken markup gives up the chance entirely. See our guides to structured data and rich results.

How to fix common problems

Paste the generated block into the HTML of the page it describes, in the head or the body. Organization usually belongs on the home page, Article on each post, Product on each product page, and FAQPage only on a page that shows those questions and answers to visitors. In a CMS, use a header-scripts setting or a code snippet plugin, or better, have your templates generate the markup from each page’s own fields.

Describe only what is visible on the page and true: the same price, the same author, the same questions. Markup that contradicts the page can lead to a manual action that removes rich results. If an SEO plugin already outputs Organization or Article markup, extend or replace it rather than adding a second, conflicting block.

After publishing, test the page with the Structured Data (Schema) Checker to confirm the JSON parses and the required properties are present, then watch the enhancement reports in Google Search Console over the following weeks. The full PerfoMetrix audit also checks whether the schema matches the page type.

Questions

Will FAQ markup give me FAQ rich results?

Rarely. Google now shows FAQ rich results only for well-known, authoritative government and health sites. FAQPage markup is still valid and readable by other consumers, but do not expect expandable questions in Google results.

Where should the JSON-LD go?

Google reads JSON-LD in the head or the body. The head keeps it easy to find; what matters is that it is in the delivered HTML or added by JavaScript that runs when the page loads.

Can a page have more than one schema type?

Yes. A product page can carry Product and Organization, an article Article and BreadcrumbList. Use separate blocks or one block with an @graph array, and make sure they do not contradict each other.
